wft: going to bed in the *tens*

i seriously can not remember the last time this happend!
it is amazing what one can actually accomplish in a day when you get out of bed within 2 slams of a snooze button {6:30} versus adding an hour of very interrupted sleep in 9 minute intervals.
i got to work early (in the sevens) for a meeting at 8!  enjoyed an impromptu lunch HOUR with BABs and left the office in the fives!  i was even able to get 2 classes in at the gym {gPower AND gRide}, swing by the grocery, and was home at 8:07!  it was GLORIOUS!

dinner = jelly bellys, baked chicken breast, and a peach with a glass of pinot grigio
{hope the hubs~to~be is okay with that as a three.course.meal}
tv = only had the attention span for 3 of the YouTube acts from last night's America's Got Talent {but i think team iLuminate has this whole gig in the bag… see video below}
voluntarily going to check out for the day even though there are clothes to put away and a dirty pan in the sink!

yes... i know it's been a while but i have a favorite thing this week

unfortunately blogging has slipped a few rungs on the ladder with the recent "to do" list and i am ashamed that i almost lost it after a mere 6 months!  more detailed posts to come {or a series of "while i wasn't blogging"} but i had to share a couple things tonight:

1. my fiance is the most wonderful man in the world!  when i finally admitted to him that i was starting to crumble under the pressure of planning the *perfect* wedding, he stepped up without an ounce of hesitation! he has been quite the little to-do-list-assistant and has managed to plan a couple of evenings for just the 2 of us.  he has no idea {until he reads this} how wonderful it is to not have to worry about "what's for dinner?" or maybe he does know ;)  he has been so supportive and tolerant of my {what i hope is} temporary insanity.  i love him so much and can not wait to be married <3

2. in all of his fantasticness… today he bought one of the most entertaining.inventions.ever *a little back story* our cats have what one might refer to as "a little bit of a weight problem." especially "the boy one" {as i once referred to him}, Tony.
>>> the FroliCat: BOLT<<<

*i know* it looks just like a bowling pin to me too!
BUT {fingers crossed} it is a magic-kitty-weight-loss product!
its a red laser that randomly dances with a mirror for 15 minute intervals

this is what it does… {it gets *good* @ about 54 seconds in}
not really sure who enjoyed it more… BABs or Tony!
we shall see if we get results!  or if they figure it out that they can NEVER get the *red light*

L,L,L… but sometimes it gets ugly

ugly #1… so i must say this is supposed to be "happy" blog but i am choking back stupid tears because something has flipped a switch of in me that would warn people to stay away.  i mean it is 1 hour (when i started typing) in to my vacation and i feel like a monster inside.  so first leaving work early (like 3 hours early) was verbally approved by my manager yesterday if i did her a favor this afternoon!  AWESOME right?  until your (god bless him) bi-polar patient calls you 9 minutes AFTER you were supposed to leave to begin the aforementioned favor.  i really DID need to talk to this lovely gentleman prior to being out of the office for a week but he just loves to chit chat… and even though i mentioned in my voicemail (from 9 this am) that i would be leaving at 3 and out of the office all next week… he took his chances and dialed me up at 3:09!  and since the LAST thing one wants to return from a vacation to is "your patient had a drug interaction, or bad side effect and is in the hospital" (which would have ONLY happened had i NOT answered the phone).  1548 hours i am OTD (out the door) to simply drop off a laptop in Buckhead!  …luckily, no traffic and a painless commute (with toll relief) to regional and a smooth laptop hand-off… check on "one more thing" and switch the email to "out of the office" i leave work at 1715… 15 minutes 'early'.  which is on time or 15 minutes late for most.

ugly #2: when did july 1st become too late to bathing suite shop?  i know they start showing up in February and i just think that is silly… but there is NOTHING left!  macy's, 2 old navy's, steinmart, and a target…. so target #2: jackpot would be a stretch but i am pleased to have options!  (lets back up to those 'teary' feelings) i am looking for ANYTHING that matches in a large… (or x-large).  this saddens me that i am even considering XL bottoms… and since double D turned in to lil' C ~9 years ago i don't even want to THINK about an XL top… but we can mix and match and certainly find SOMETHING that will 'work' right?  YAY.. so i get a couple tops (in each size and 2 different colors) and a few bottoms (stripes, solids, dots, L, XL) and holy hell i even considered trying on a… wait for it… one-piece!  all in all 8 'pieces' with 15 different combinations (… and a 1 piece).  well the "man doing his job and following the rules" tells me there is a 6 item max… now ladies… we all "know" there is a max… but 2 pieces is really just ONE bathing suit so i should get a pass… well not according to TMDHJ&FTR!  i think i actually verbalized "are you f-ing kidding me? i have to take off all my clothes, mix and match these 6, and can NOT take 2 extra (and a 1 piece).  that's f-ing ridiculous!"  (i dropped an eff bomb at target!)  he says "you can take that up with corporate" "well i'd like to speak to a manager"  i chuckle that there is now a line of 8 ladies behind me… none of them have the audacity to say "i have less than 6... can i go in?"  i literally waited 6 minutes for NO manager to show up (an no one asked to cut!)  WTH… i say to myself… when did all these f-ing people start following rules?  no more than 6 items in a dressing room… no cutsies?  6 minutes later i settle drop the one-sies and and XL bottoms and end up with a black tankini.  i will be boycotting the perimeter target as well!  never again :(  but he seriously almost made me CRY!

there are a few other things that i am pissed about too (and will spare you) but i hope i can either sleep, drink, or exercise this off before the vacay REALLY begins… if you even care about reading anything else click on this link and you wont be disappointed!  it is the funniest thing i have read all week.

been busy...

let's see how i do in summing up the past few weeks…

BACK STORY:  last november was not my best month… applied for, interviewed for, and didn't get 2 jobs… (looking back now a MAJOR blessing in disguise).  then didn't pass a test i had been "studying" for about a month.  one of those tests where you hear "oh, you will pass it!  you'll pass it with flying colors"…  missed it by 5 questions and honestly if i had one more month to study i am not sure what i would have changed (other than not preparing for 2 big interviews with presentations at the same time)!  it had been a while since i went 0 for 3 (probably my past dating life) and i was pretty bummed… VERY bummed.  but my boyfriend decided he wanted to marry me ("failure" and all) and christmas morning changed my perspective on things.

yada yada yada… took the test again today and passed!  not at all by flying colors… but passed!  i now have three more letters behind my name :)  kim dobbin, pharmd, cde!!  (that is certified diabetes educator if you were wondering).  luckily when you pass you get reimbursed, so i swung by the apple store and picked myself up an iPad2 (and a CFA sandwich)!  i tell you what though… 6 years later... studying sucks a LOT more than it used to!  it has made me CRAZY!  thank goodness for my "anti-bridezilla-pills" or else i really would have lost it and probably failed again!  i wonder how i did it in school for 20 years and never much "worried" about tests!

lately to my surprise i am not missing Oprah at all!  i <3 ellen!  she makes me laugh a lot more than the big O!

got my tenth peachtree road race number last week!  thats going to be a hot race!  but at this point i can't just stop getting t-shirts!

reinstated massage monday today!  and got a facial!  that was nice (esp after taking the magic pills).

7 days until vacation and the resurrection of wedding planning (as if i didn't make myself a bomb-@$$ super organized notebook during a "study break" last week).  now with iPad in tow i have all my questions, ideas, and contracts in one place and ready to go!!

this weeks' favorite thing: xanax!!

baby, baby, babies

this weekend was full of babies!  i am still in awe that my friends are making little people that are a perfect combination of mommy and daddy!

Saturday started by celebrating Brett's 3rd birthday.

See what i mean… perfect mix of his mom and dad!  i don't know who was more excited, me or him, when he opened his present from me!  a jersey given by brett favre, to bieber, to me (...well indirectly), to brett pierce!  i know his sister is hoping bieber could spend some time with peyton manning in the next 2 and a half years and i get the opportunity to intersect the Goodwill pile :)

Sunday was monthly play day in the park.  monthly girl's dinner has been going strong for over 2 years now… and since the little people are learning how to walk around it can make for a less than relaxing evening for the mommies.  now i don't have any, but can imagine that chasing the tots around is not the night out (in) we intended at the initiation of monthly girl's dinner.  for the most part we like to spend time with these little princesses (and bennett and everett)… so someone (i believe it was jana) had the brilliant idea to break the month in half and have a play day in the park.  first sunday of the month! babies, toddlers, and husbands all invited!  it was certainly a lovely Sunday afternoon followed by a crazy taco and cheese dip.  mmm mmm good.

i close with a baby montage!

Katie and Carson (~18 mos)
Kimmy and Bennett (~7 mos)

Abby (~4 mos) using Meg as a boppy
<3A little flirting action <3
Me with Evie (~1 month)

SQUIRREL!

we spent memorial day weekend up in the blue ridge mountains with a couple of couples.  it was a nice relaxing weekend!

i was trying a new medication to help some of my anxiety lately but suffered from some not so fun side effects.  of the 48 hours we were there i spent over half of them asleep and ~12 of those hours included a nauseating migraine :(  its now 9:30 pm on monday (though my brain still thinks it is sunday) i have had a workout, a nap, baking therapy, a steak, and i feel near headache relief for the first time all weekend!  the sad part is that the pill TOTALLY took the edge off!  i just can not function with my skull splitting like that.  i guess there isn't much worry about when all you are physically able to do is sit in a dark quiet room!
the highlights of the weekend included jilly's cupcakery cupcakes and a flying squirrel!

 here is a video to show some of the excitement!  the video may seem a little anti-climactic… but this was after the squirrel 'flew' about 20 feet off the window sill.
